How to Start a New Meeting

HOW TO START A NEW MEETING
(AND REGISTER WITH THE A.A. GENERAL SERVICE OFFICE, AREA 10 & NORTHERN COLORADO INTERGROUP)
FIRST
A. Go to the G.S.O. A.A. webpage on “Starting a New Meeting.” They have everything you will need there. https://www.aa.org/pages/en_us/starting-a-new-aa-group
Note: Central Office also has a “Guide for Leading Beginners Meetings” published by World Services.
B. Click on and download the “New Group Form.” Print it and fill it out with your group. We also have printed copies of the form in the office. https://www.aa.org/assets/en_US/e_group.pdf
Note: You can also update your meeting information by clicking on and downloading the “Change of Information Form for Existing Groups” form. We also have copies of the form at Central Office.
C. Then, send in your form. There are 3 ways you can do it:
1. Email (scan in the completed form) and attach.
2. Postal mail to A.A. World Services, Inc.
3. Fax it.
Note: The above information is all on the New Meeting form, including the addresses and fax number.
SECOND
A. Go to the Area 10 (Colorado) Records website. Download the “Area 10 Records Information Update Form” form and fill it out.
B. Then, send in your form to the Area 10 Records coordinator. There are 2 ways you can do that:
1. Email (scan in the completed form) and attach.
2. Postal mail
Note: More information is on the Group Information Update form itself, including the addresses and fax number.
THIRD, and this is the super important one
A. Let your Central Office-Northern Colorado Intergroup know so we can add you to the local and app meeting lists and direct newcomers in your area to your meeting.
B. Please use this online form to send us information about your new group and any changes to your group or meetings. We will put your meeting information on our website, our paper meeting list, and on the World Services A.A. Meeting Guide mobile app. HELP THE NEWCOMER FIND YOU.

Lastly, consider sending a group member as an Intergroup Representative (IGR) and another as a General Service Representative (GSR) to the Northern Colorado Intergroup and District meetings. This way your group can have a say on changes.
